On Friday 11 June 2010 the CPOA presented Mr. Stuart Royal with a check for $5,000 for his winning essay during the 2010 CCCAF Scholarship Program. Mr. Royal's father, BMCS John Royal is a member of the Yorktown Chapter. The check was presented by Yorktown Chapter President MKCS Bryan Ross and National Vice President ISCM Mark Pearson at the Yorktown Chief's Hut.

Stuart Allen Royal is a sophomore at Florida State University where he is pursuing a Mechanical Engineering Degree. During his freshmen year Stuart made the Dean’s list (both semesters), was inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, and currently carries a 3.6 GPA. Stuart is the son of John and Susan Royal of Chesapeake, Va. and his brother is BM3 Gregory Royal at CG Station Cortez, FL. John is a retired SCPO and a contractor a C3CEN in Portsmouth, VA.
