On August 1, 2009 during TRACEN Yorktowns Coast Guard Day celebration picnic, the Peninsula Mustang Enthusiast Club, a local car club, held a car show on base to help raise funds to donate to Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters, a local hospital organization in Virginia. Together with a donation from the TRACEN Yorktown CPOA Chapter, they were able to present a check to CHKD for $800 on October 24, 2009.
